A meticulously crafted Edwardian split pearl brooch. This rich 15ct yellow gold bar brooch features a bow as the central motif. At the centre of the bow is fixed a single seed pearl, which is surrounded by graduated split-seed pearls. These graduated split seed pearls also extend the full length of the brooch which culminates in two cylindrical finals, topped with split pearls. Split pearl jewellery was very popular during the Edwardian period and is seen as indicative of the era. This brooch is both an elegant and a desirable piece of fine antique jewellery.
