A pair of genuine Victorian garnet earrings. Two very well matched oval cut garnet gemstones with a combined weight of 1.60ct, set in rich 9ct yellow gold. Garnets derived their name from the Latin word "granatum" which means pomegranate and was believed to represent primordial fire. A decorative Art Nouveau moonstone ring. A large and impressive cabochon moonstone weighing 6.87ct has been set in silver using a rub-over setting. Moonstone was a very popular gemstone during the Art Nouveau period and grey moonstones such as this one were called "New Moon Stones".
