Georgian Jewellery (1714 – 1837)

  • An original pair of Georgian paste earrings. These foil back paste stones have been set in a 9ct yellow gold closed back settings and fitted with shepherd hooks. The foil backing is to enhance the stone`s sparkle and has aged beautifully with little patches of foxing visible, circa 1870. Size: 9mm in diameter, weight: 0.9g each.   • A very pretty Georgian acrostic ring. Designed as a floral cluster, this ring spells out the word " Dearest ". Starting with an old cut diamond at its center weighing 10 points. Which is surrounded by round cut emerald, amethyst, ruby, sapphire and turquoise cabochons mounted in 9ct yellow gold. An eye-catching piece of Georgian jewellery.   • A unique Georgian garnet and pearl brooch. Eight bright flat cut garnets along with eight split pearls are mounted in rich 9ct yellow gold. Each flat cut garnet is foil backed to give it luminosity before been placed in a closed back setting, which is indicative of the Georgian period. This brooch is in excellent condition for its age and can be worn as a pendant as well as a brooch. A rare and well-made piece of fine antique jewellery. Size: 28mm x 25mm, weight: 2.9g.
