An elegant Edwardian cameo brooch. This beautiful cameo has been carved from a single Cornelian shell. These shells have a white marble like layer and a darker layer, typically brown. Allowing a master carver to create this image of a beautiful lady in fine detail with a contrasting background. On the back of the cameo a natural discrepancy can be seen and also felt, which authenticates this cornelian shell. This precisely carved cameo is mounted in a rich 15ct yellow gold setting featuring a double row of twisted ropes. This exceptional cameo can be worn as a pendant as well as a brooch. An oval cut Amethyst gemstone weighing 2.54ct has been set in 9ct yellow gold, with scrolling motifs studded with split seed pearl flanking either side. Hallmarked for Chester 1914. An intricate Art Nouveau scroll brooch. A central oval-cut Garnet weighing 1.12ct has been set in 9ct yellow gold, with a milgrain finish around the setting edge. A very pretty Victorian Ruby and Pearl brooch. Cabochon cut rubies with a combined weight of 2.4ct alternating with split pearls have been set in 9ct yellow gold.
