An original pair of Art Deco cufflinks. A depiction of a Scottie terrier has been carved into the back of rock crystal and then painted. This technique is known as reverse intaglio or Essex crystal as it is sometimes called. The technique first emerged in the mid-1800s and remained popular right up to the 1930`s. These cufflinks have been mounted in a gold tone setting, which has aged beautifully and are a fine example of the craftsmanship of this period.
Size: 16mm x 14mm, weight: 3.3g each.
Period: Art Deco Jewellery ( 1920 – 1935 ).
