An intricate Art Deco butterfly wing necklace. This beautiful scene of a beach with golden sands and a palm tree was made using iridescent butterfly wings. It was made by using a technique called reverse painting, where the butterfly wings were placed onto the back of the glass and then mounted in sterling silver. Which is finished off with a decorative border and a flower bail.  This exquisite pendant is suspended from its original sterling silver Singapore chain. The necklace was manufactured and signed by Thomas Mott (TLM) circa the 1920s. A beautiful piece of history, which has become very collectible.
