November's birthstone citrine was very popular during the 19th century and was widely used in both jewellery and in intaglio work. A pair of decorative Victorian gold and diamond earrings. These beautiful drop earrings are made from rich 15ct gold and feature a diamond on a raised plinth. Each round cut diamond is secured by a claw setting and is accentuated by elaborate carvings. The combined weight of both diamonds is 34 points. Surrounding each raised plinth is a border of four gold ropes and finished with a recessed beaded edge. A beautiful example of intricate Victorian jewellery, as well as being of timeless design. A pair of genuine Victorian garnet earrings. Two very well matched oval cut garnet gemstones with a combined weight of 1.60ct, set in rich 9ct yellow gold. Garnets derived their name from the Latin word "granatum" which means pomegranate and was believed to represent primordial fire. A highly decorative Victorian tortoiseshell pique brooch. Pique was a technique that used gold and silver to inlaid a decorative pattern. It was first introduced in Italy during the 1600s, but reached its heyday in the mid-1800s. The front of this tortoiseshell brooch is in perfect condition. However, there is a chip to the rim at the back of this brooch as can be seen in the photo. This chip cannot be seen from the front of the brooch when worn, however, there is a small crack visible. A pretty Victorian clover brooch. Three saphiret glass hemispheres have been set in a closed back gold-tone setting, with a single rhinestone in the centre. Saphiret glass is made by adding gold to sapphire coloured glass and was produced in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia during the 19th century. A well-made and rare piece of antique costume jewellery.
