  • An intricately carved Whitby jet mourning brooch. An oval-shaped piece of jet has been hand-carved to depict an eagle landing on a garland, which is finished with a foliate surround. A beautifully made Victorian Mourning brooch. Size: 55mm X 47mm, weight: 19.6g Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A highly decorative Victorian tortoiseshell pique brooch. Pique was a technique that used gold and silver to inlaid a decorative pattern. It was first introduced in Italy during the 1600s, but reached its heyday in the mid-1800s. The front of this tortoiseshell brooch is in perfect condition. However, there is a chip to the rim at the back of this brooch as can be seen in the photo. This chip cannot be seen from the front of the brooch when worn, however, there is a small crack visible.   • A very pretty Victorian silver daisy brooch, inspired by the Japanese arts of shakudo and shibuichi. Depicting two daisies flowers in raised relief and engraved foliage. A well-made piece of antique jewellery, circa 1875. Diameter: 34mm, weight: 5.8g Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A pretty Victorian clover brooch. Three saphiret glass hemispheres have been set in a closed back gold-tone setting, with a single rhinestone in the centre. Saphiret glass is made by adding gold to sapphire coloured glass and was produced in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia during the 19th century.  A well-made and rare piece of antique costume jewellery.   • A bright Victorian pinchbeck Citrine Brooch. An oval cut Citrine gemstone weighing 25ct has been set in pinchbeck. Pinchbeck is an alloy of copper and zinc and was invented in the 18th Century to resemble gold. This large Citrine has excellent colour saturation and clarity, allowing it to catch the light beautifully. Size: 32mm x 28mm, weight:11.6g. Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A meticulously crafted Victorian Micro Mosaic brooch. Made by the Italian artist Fabbrica Angelo Pessar, who was renowned for his beautiful micro mosaics. Which he sold to Victorians traveling in Italy, typically as part of their grand tour. A beautiful piece of history. Size: 27mm X 27mm, weight: 6.7g Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A flawless Victorian Goshenite brooch. An oval cut Goshenite gemstone weighing 22.80ct has been set in 9ct yellow gold. Goshenite or white beryl as it is sometimes called is said to be the purest of all the gemstones due to its incredible transparency.  Although it appears completely transparent, there is a very slight blue/green hue visible when viewed from an angle. A bright and lively brooch, which looks amazing when worn. Size: 30mm x 23mm, weight: 7.6g. Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • An original Victorian brooch. A crescent moon studded with clear graduated rhinestones in a gold tone setting. The pin on this brooch extends beyond the brooch itself, this was a security measure and is a characteristic of Victorian jewellery. A rare piece of antique costume jewellery.   • An intricately carved Victorian Cameo Shell brooch. This cornelian shell has been beautifully carved to depict the profile of a lady. Cornelian shells are comprised of two layers, a white marble type layer and a darker normally light brown layer. This allows the carver to create a contrasting background. This cameo is mounted in a 9ct gold surround featuring a single twist rope and can be worn as a pendant as well as a brooch. A beautiful example of Victorian craftsmanship.   • An original Victorian bog oak mourning brooch. An oval cabochon shape piece of bog oak has been carved to depict a central flower, with two foliate panels on either side. Size: 43mm X 34mm, weight: 10g Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A skillfully crafted Bog Oak mourning brooch. An oval-shaped piece of bog oak has been carved with a floral design in relief. Fitted with a brass spring-mounted pin to the back. Size: 48mm X 18mm, weight: 5g Period: Victorian ( 1837 – 1901 ).
  • A decorative Victorian Diamond bar brooch. A round-cut diamond is set 9ct yellow gold on a raised cylindrical plinth, with a single twist rope at its base. Extending from either side are ornate gold wings forming this beautiful Etruscan revival brooch. This brooch comes fitted with a safety chain.   • A sparkling 1960s rhinestone brooch. Beautiful concentric circles of rhinestones, starting with a royal blue outer circle which moves to a sky blue middle circle and then to a pale blue inner circle. Finished with a single royal blue rhinestone at the centre. These rhinestones are set in a closed-back gold tone setting and have been signed by Sphinx.   • A unique Georgian garnet and pearl brooch. Eight bright flat cut garnets along with eight split pearls are mounted in rich 9ct yellow gold. Each flat cut garnet is foil backed to give it luminosity before been placed in a closed back setting, which is indicative of the Georgian period.   • A fine quality Edwardian Tourmaline and Pearl brooch. The round cut tourmaline gemstone weights 80 points and is set in rich 15ct gold with milgrain detail to the edge, providing extra sparkle. Tourmaline is the alternate birthstone for October and was believed to be the artist's gemstone, promoting creativity. To each side of the gemstone are gold scrolls, which taper back to form a bar. Each scroll terminates with a split seed pearl final surrounded by a milgrain edge. In the centre of each double scroll is a floral motif studded with seven split seed pearls. Floral motifs containing split pearls were very popular during this time and are indicative of the period. A well-made and classic piece of fine antique jewellery. Size: 73mm x 11mm, weight: 6.7g.   • A meticulously crafted Edwardian split pearl brooch. This rich 15ct yellow gold bar brooch features a bow as the central motif. At the centre of the bow is fixed a single seed pearl, which is surrounded by graduated split seed pearls. These graduated split seed pearls also extend the full length of the brooch which culminates in two cylindrical finals, topped with split pearls. Split pearl jewellery was very popular during the Edwardian period and is seen as indicative of the era. This brooch is both an elegant and a desirable piece of fine antique jewellery.
