An intricate Art Deco butterfly wing necklace. This beautiful scene of a beach with golden sands and a palm tree was made using iridescent butterfly wings. It was made by using a technique called reverse painting, where the butterfly wings were placed onto the back of the glass and then mounted in sterling silver. Which is finished off with a decorative border and a flower bail. This exquisite pendant is suspended from its original sterling silver Singapore chain. The necklace was manufactured and signed by Thomas Mott (TLM) circa the 1920s. A beautiful piece of history, which has become very collectible. Size: 40mm x 18mm, weight: 6.6g. Chain length : 45cm. An original pair of Art Deco Cufflinks. A depiction of a horse and rider has been carved into the back of rock crystal and then painted. This technique is called reverse intaglio or Essex crystal as it is also known. The technique was first developed in the mid-1800s and remained popular right up to the 1930`s.
